Carrying On: The Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) is rebranding its annual spring show, which will now be called Mobile Carriers Show. The event will take place from 13 – 16 April in Nashville. According to the CCA, this new event will fill “an industry-wide need for a tradeshow focused on mobile carriers – smart strategies, innovations and business opportunities in the ever-evolving industry.” Its focus will be on revenue generation, business development and technology innovation within the carrier community.
Speaking Opportunity: Lions Innovation, is a summit within the Cannes Lions International Festival that explores how data and tech are colliding to catalyze innovation within the industry. The two-day summit attracts start ups, investors, brands and agencies focused on innovative uses of data and tech. The Call for Proposals process for Lions Innovation is different from that of the larger festival. Speaker submissions are due by December 31 and submisison guidelines can be found here.
Lunchtime Learning: The theme for Techonomy ’15 was Re-humanizing Society which focused on how innovation can benefit people, not simply make money. Smart Machines: And speaking of MIT Technology Review, the organization has announced that its next event, EmTech Digital (23 – 24 May in San Francisco), will focus on how ‘smart machines will redefine your industry.’ The agenda will explore AI technologies and its impact as it moves ‘from lab to marketplace.’
