Get Real: The event formerly known as WebRTC Conference has a new name. It will furthermore be dubbed Real Time Web Solutions Conference. While it will still have a significant focus on WebRTC, the agenda will also discuss the full range of capabilities and components necessary to deliver a complete web communications solution. It will take place from 1 – 4 August in NYC.
VIVA Technology: Publicis Groupe and Groupe Les Echos, one of France’s leading business media sources, has announced that they will be hosting an event whose mission will be “to bring the world’s most innovative startups together with the major global players in digital transformation.” The event, called VIVA Technology, will be held for three days starting 30 June and is expected to attract more than 30,000 entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and investors to Porte de Versailles in Paris.
Speaking Opportunity: Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is self-described as “the world’s largest technical conference for women in computing.” The event, which takes place from 19 – 21 October in Houston, TX, is now accepting speaker proposals from those interested in addressing one of the many topics covered on the agenda. Speaker/topic ideas are due by 20 March according to the submission guidelines found here.

Coming Up Next: There are several large conferences next week. In Austin, South-by-Southwest (SXSW) will be in full swing. The conference will livestream several sessions throughout the week here. Game Developers Conference (GDC) expects more than 26,000 attendees to take over the Moscone Center in San Francisco during the week. And CUE 2016 National Conference for educational professionals will convene in Palm Springs, CA from 17 – 19 March.
