NAB in NYC: In 2014 NAB acquired Content & Communications World (CCW) and in 2015 reintroduced it as NAB Show New York. “Bringing the power, passion and connections of NAB Show to the thriving NYC media and entertainment market” was a good bet. It was so successful that it beat all expectations by attracting more than 7,200 attendees the first year. Based on these results, the NAB Show NY will return to the Javits Convention Center in 2016 from 9 – 10 November. Learn more here.
Innovation & Wine Intertwine: On November 4 the inaugural Harvest Summit will take place at a private wine country estate in Sonoma County, CA. This invitation-only gathering will bring together “innovators, influencers and tastemakers joined by award-winning chefs, winemakers, and artisans to think, talk and celebrate the art, science and social impact of innovation.” According to the organizers, the agenda will include interactive small group discussions on topics such as IOT, mindfulness, innovation and the future of food. Check out the current speaker line up and agenda here.
Speaking Opportunity: SXSW Interactive Conference has opened its speaker application process, called the PanelPicker. If you are interested in suggesting a topic, remember to do so by 22 July following their guidelines found here. It is important to note that all submitted ideas will be posted online for community voting. While the online vote only counts for 30% of the selection decision, it gives attendees the chance to help shape SXSW programming. The event will take place from 10 – 18 March 2017.
