What’s the Plan – is the Plan: DLD17 conference has announced its 2017 theme: WHAT’S THE PLAN? This was chosen because, per the organizers, “entering the cognitive era we need to ask questions about how to deal with this new transformation and what is next.” This idea will be explored in depth when the conference returns to Munich from 15 – 17 January. In its 13th year, DLD gathers more than 1000 attendees who are “scientists, business leaders, politicians, artists, game changers, and startup entrepreneurs.” Agenda and speaker details for the conference will be announced shortly on the DLD website.
To Be Determined: When Fortune and the Economist published their event calendars for 2017, there were a few noticeable gaps in each lineup. Fortune’s list did not include dates for Brainstorm E (previously Brainstorm Green) and The Economist did not include a marketing event (last year’s edition was called Marketing Unbound). Both organizations state that their event calendars are constantly changing and events may be added throughout the year, but nothing has currently been planned for either Brainstorm E or Marketing Unbound in 2017.
Speaking Opportunity: MarTech was developed for professionals who are both marketing and tech-savvy to “explore how organizations can effectively integrate marketing technologies into their strategy and operations.” The conference organizers are currently accepting speaker/topic ideas for the 2017 US event, taking place from 9 – 11 May in San Francisco. Submit speaker proposals by 17 December via the online form, found here.
Lunchtime Learning: Earlier this week, Fortune debuted its Brainstorm Health conference, which focused on “the revolution that is underway in 21st century healthcare.” Even if you were not able to be in San Diego for the live event, you can still listen to the incredible speakers – Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Arianna Huffington and Maria Shriver – as they offer actionable solutions to the challenges faced by this evolving industry.
Coming Up Next: Next week is packed with conference activity! Web Summit kicks off on Monday, bringing 50,000 entrepreneurs, developers, tech leaders and investors to its new venue in Lisbon. On the East Coast, Inbound Conference gathers marketers in Boston while the media, entertainment and tech industry head to New York for NAB NYC. On the West Coast, Techonomy will explore Man, Machines, and the Network and Structure will discuss all things cloud.
