AI Inspiring Minds: Inspired Minds Media Limited, which is in the business of organizing technology conferences as well as providing data and information services, has announced that it will be hosting its first flagship annual conference, Summit AI, in Amsterdam from 10 -12 October. Inspired Minds previously held smaller, regional gatherings (100 – 200 attendees) focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). This conference was created to gather the community of developers, researchers and decision makers within large companies that are applying artificial intelligence to their businesses. The conference organizers expect 2,000 attendees at Summit AI.
Out of Africa: Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) has announced that it will host its first ever, Africa Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare in February 2018. At this 3-day conference will be focused on health care innovations that may be implemented effectively in low resource settings, ministries of health, health care providers, and community leaders will address key challenges and opportunities in the region. The event is scheduled for 19 – 21 February 2018 in Durban, South Africa.
Speaking Opportunity: GMIC (Global Mobile Internet Conference) Beijing, taking place from 27 – 30 April, has opened a call for speakers. With more than 35,000 attendees who are tech executives, researchers, investors and entrepreneurs from 60+ countries, the conference has become one of China’s largest mobile Internet conferences. If you are interested in speaking at the event, submit your topic ideas here by 26 February.
Lunchtime Learning: The Social Innovation Summit, an annual event in Chicago, is self-described as “a global convening of black swans and wayward thinkers.” Watch previous speakers such as Founder & Chief Executive Officer of DonorsChoose.org and the Chief Diversity Officer eBay, who are “not just talking about the next big thing, but building it.”
Coming Up Next: Next week in Hollywood, FL the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) will hold its Annual Leadership Meeting under the theme, Publishers & Platforms: What’s Next? In San Diego next week, DistribuTECH will take place. The annual smart grid event encompasses automation and control systems, IT, T&D engineering, power delivery equipment and water utility technology. What began 25 years ago as a regional event, is now a national industry leading source for employee health and wellness education. The Health Benefits Conference & Expo (HBCE) will be in Clearwater Beach, FL from 30 January – 1 February.
