All about Apps: Since 2013 App Promotion Summit (APS) has been held in London and Berlin. This spring APS will head to New York City for the first time! Happening on 6 April, the conference will gather more than 200 app marketing professionals to discuss mobile strategy and marketing. More information on the attendees and format can be found here.
Making a Local Impact: BIA/Kelsey recently announced that they will be launching a regional series of half-day events for executives in media, marketing and agencies to discuss data and tactics for reaching local markets. Called LOCAL IMPACT, these gatherings will replace the group’s previously held annual events including the National and SMB conferences. The LOCAL IMPACT series will include stops in Dallas, Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York and, according to the organizers, “will break the mold of traditional conferences and offer a brand-new opportunity for leaders in both the traditional and digital local community to connect and do business.”
MADE Out! As I reported in December, the team behind ad:tech West announced a new location (San Diego) and a new name, ad:tech MADE (Marketing, Advertising, Digital, Energized). Well, they just reported that after listening to “the collective excitement and response of sponsors and delegates around the desire to be part of one focused ad:tech event in 2017,” they decided to cancel ad:tech San Diego and focus all efforts towards ad:tech NY 2017.
Speaking Opportunity: AI World will again gather more than 2500 “enterprise executives and decision makers from Global 2000 organizations and business leaders from across the entire artificial intelligence and machine learning ecosystem” in Boston from 18 – 20 September. The conference has announced that they have opened a call for speakers and are interested in business and technology topics around AI and machine learning. If you have an interesting idea to share, submit by 15 March via their online speaker form.
Lunchtime learning: The IBC Conference, which will take place from 14 – 18 September in Amsterdam, highlights the issues facing the electronic media and entertainment industry. Last year’s theme was Transformation in the Digital Era: Leadership, Strategy and Creativity in Media and Entertainment. Listen to speakers from Vevo, Hollywood Reporter and even NASA explore new strategies and uncover the future roadmap of the industry.
Coming Up Next: Next week, “the world’s largest gathering of the mobile industry” takes place as Mobile World Congress begins. The GSMA, organizers of the event expect more than attract more than 101,000 professionals from across the mobile industry and adjacent industry sectors to attend. Meanwhile in San Francisco, “the world’s largest professional game industry event” will take over the city. Game Developer Conference is expected to bring more than 27,000 programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals, business decision-makers and others involved in the development of interactive games and virtual reality to the city. In Chicago, the Economist Innovation Summit will gather “editors of The Economist and more than 200 Fortune 500 CEOs, policymakers and disruptive entrepreneurs” to discuss strategies for becoming a truly data-driven and digital business.
