Tech Titans in the City of Lights: Bloomberg will be hosting a new technology event in Paris in 2018. This is the first event from the Sooner Than You Think series located outside of the U.S. From 22 – 23 May tech leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs will gather at Station F, the world’s largest tech start-up campus located in the heart of Paris. VRDC in China: UBM the organization behind several big conference brands, recently announced that its Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC) will be expanding to Asia in 2018. VRDC’s audience is made up of the fans and creators of immersive VR, AR, and mixed reality experiences. According to the organizers, “China’s VR hardware market is experiencing explosive growth with strong investment, widespread infrastructure deployment, exciting new content, and new major players entering the industry. To meet the growing demand for high-quality education and networking opportunities, VRDC will expand to Asia with its first event in Shanghai, China.” The conference is scheduled for 16 – 17 May 2018 in Shanghai.
Speaking Opportunity: The new Machine Learning & AI Developers Conference is self-described as “the only Conference and Exhibition dedicated to the implementation of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technologies in embedded systems.” When the event debuts on 21 March 2018, its agenda will “explore the hardware and software challenges of building up and debugging complex machine learning and artificial intelligence systems.” If you have a topic related to ML and AI algorithms, processors and systems, or the application of ML and AI in automotive, industrial, medical, and other applications, submit your speaker application before the 28 December deadline via this online form.
Lunchtime Learning: Fortune recently concluded its 4th Annual Most Powerful Women Next Gen Summit last month in Laguna Niguel, CA. Another group of amazing women, described by the conference organizers as “game-changing executives, entrepreneurs and innovators in business, along with leaders in government, philanthropy, education and the arts,” gathered to discuss business leadership issues such as changing a corporate culture, shaping the political future, cybersecurity and leadership in the boardroom. Hear speakers including Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe, Olympic soccer player Hope Solo, former U.S. CTO Megan Smith, and singer-songwriter Estelle.
