Searching Coast to Coast: Search Marketing Expo (SMX) has been one of the leading conferences for Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing SEM professionals for more than a decade. Previously the event was held twice a year, once on the East Coast and once on the West Coast. Beginning in 2018, the conference will be held once per year in the U.S., alternating between coasts. This cadence will begin in San Jose from 13 – 15 March. The conference series also has international gatherings, which will happen in Munich, London and Paris later this year.
Entertainment Event Ends: Since 2007, Digital Kids Media has been connecting a global community of leaders in the digital kids’ space to share best practices and the newest innovations to inspire and advance business in the ever-changing world of kids’ digital entertainment and learning. The organizers of the Digital Kids Conference and Summit events announced that Digital Kids Media has decided to close operations, and will not be hosting events in the future.
Speaking Opportunity: SYS-CON’s Cloud Expo/East is one of the world’s largest independent events focused on cloud computing. The 22nd annual Cloud Expo will be held on 5 – 7 June at the Javits Center in New York City. They are now accepting speaker/topic suggestions via its online Call for Papers (CFP) submission form. Topics of interest include APIs, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data & Analytics, Content Delivery, DevOps & Tools, Financial Technology, Healthcare, Security & Compliance, Serverless Computing, Storage and Virtualization. CFP deadline is 31 January.
Lunchtime Learning: Last November, unbound Miami debuted, showcasing grassroots reflecting the incredible opportunity for South Florida as an innovation hub for the entire LatAm region. The 2017 conference was held at the Mana Wynwood complex and welcomed 3,000 entrepreneurs, brands, investors and senior-decision makers for a two-day celebration of networking and innovation. Watch presentations on topics such as Bitcoin Millionaire, The Rise of Generation Z and Serial Entrepreneurship.
Coming up next week: The retail industry comes together at NRF’s Annual Convention, The Big Show, (14 – 16 January in New York), which sees more than 30,000 retail executives and business partners from around the world. In Miami, NATPE Market & Conference opens 16 January, offering content buyers, sellers, distributors, advertisers, and influencers in the global TV industry to chance to meet and learn from new content and session formats this year. Casual Connect kicks off next week in Anaheim (16 – 18 January). Among the largest professionals-only games conference in the US, its program features speakers from Disney, Xbox, Mattel, Zynga, Atari, just to name a few. Last but not least, Adexchanger hosts its Industry Preview program in New York, 17 – 18 January. Speakers here include executives from Facebook, Google, IBM, CBS, and NBC tackling the new technologies marketers can expect in the coming year.
