FT Brings Energy Event to Texas: Following the success of its London Summit, The Financial Times has launched a Digital Energy Summit in the USA. This event will include sessions covering what we can expect from the next phase of digital and technology disruption to the oil, gas, power and clean energy industries. The conference organizers expect more than 150 decision-makers from the digital energy community at this summit which will be held on 6 December in Houston, TX.
DevNetwork Tips the Scales: Scalability 2018 is a new event produced by DevNetwork, the same team behind DeveloperWeek and TechWeek. Taking place from 27 – 28 November in Chicago, the conference will aim to “give everyone, from CTO to software developer, a complete update on all of the newest technologies and best practices on scaling up your technology.” The organizers expect approximately 1000 attendees representing executives, engineers, and technical teams.
Speaking Opportunity: Infosecurity will return to New York this fall for its second annual US conference. Co-located with ISC East and Unmanned Safety & Security Expo, the conference will run from 14 – 15 November. The event organizers are now accepting speaker suggestions for Tech Talks, a series of “inspiring, bite-size presentations addressing the latest cybersecurity risks, threats and challenges.” Unlike Infosecurity Europe, the CFP is open to everyone, even those not exhibiting. If you have a new topic idea and speaker to suggest, submit via their online form before the 5 July deadline.
Lunchtime Learning: The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) was founded in Silicon Valley in 1992 by a group of entrepreneurs and investors with roots in the Indus region. Now attracts business professionals and start up employees from around the world. In May, TiE Silicon Valley decided to do something different to build on the twenty-five-year legacy of their annual conference, TiEcon. They renamed the event TiE Inflect and focused the agenda on the business and human impact of AI. If you were not able to attend, you can still learn from the world’s best minds on how AI combined with disruptive technologies like Blockchain and IOT are radically transforming every industry including FinTech, MarTech, HealthTech and more. Coming Up Next Week: The Aspen Institute Ideas Festival, produced in partnership with The Atlantic, continues through 30 June. The main portion of the program follows up last week’s spotlight on health and will feature sessions focused on globalization, justice, and staying human in a high tech world. In Chicago, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Annual Conference and Expo kicks off 24 June, connecting 16,000 educators and innovators from the edtech world. Next year, ISTE heads to Philly. Forbes CEO Initiative holds its Annual Meeting 25-27 June in San Francisco. This membership initiative was originally created to bring together an exclusive group of chief executives who all have prioritized infusing broader purpose into corporate strategies. The second annual Geekwire Cloud Tech Summit will be held 27 June in Seattle and again speakers will represent top players in the space, like AWS, Google, Microsoft, and Slack. And in Shanghai on 27 June, Mobile World Congress opens its APAC counterpart to the theme “Discover a Better Future.”
