Sunny & Sustainable: The Responsible Business Summit West is the west coast’s leading brand-focused conference focused on shaping the future of sustainable business and society. After obtaining input from previous attendees and subscribers to their email newsletter, The Ethical Corporation, hosts of RBSWest, decided to move the 2020 event in San Diego. The organization wants to deliver an RBSWest that is of the same scale and impact as the New York and European conferences when it returns in October. Exact dates will be announced soon!
Taking the (Early) Stage: TechCrunch is launching a new event series in 2020 called TechCrunch Early Stage. These one-day gatherings will “provide access to advice and networking on the level of a great accelerator program, but with a smaller time commitment and a broader array of expert advisers.” Up first in the series is Early Stage San Francisco, taking place on 28 April, followed later this year by events in Paris and New York. There will be a few plenary sessions, but the bulk of the agenda will be made up of expert-led breakout sessions providing practical information on how attendees can fund, grow and scale their early stage startups. These sessions will begin with a brief presentation by an industry expert followed by audience questions moderated by a TechCrunch editor. Keep an eye on the website for additional details as the agenda develops.
Speaking Opportunity: Have a 20/20 clear vision on fintech that you want to address in 2020? Then look no further than Money 20/20! It’s the global series’ European edition, to be precise, taking place 16-18 June at the RAI in Amsterdam. With a revamped call for speakers, you can now suggest a fully fleshed out session idea pertinent to the money ecosystem or even just a qualified speaking candidate. Whatever the proposal type, be sure to review Money 20/20 Europe’s comprehensive submission guide – it even provides a helpful checklist. And submit no later than the 31 January deadline!
Lunchtime Learning: Each year LinkedIn runs the Talent Connect conference, which convenes talent acquisition, learning & development, and HR professionals to share best practices and build community while addressing the key challenges and trends shaping the future of work. The keynotes are impressive, but even the breakout sessions boast experienced speakers covering topics every HR leader needs to know – like retaining top performers and understanding your hiring culture. Watch a selection of keynotes and breakouts alike on their user-friendly site.
Coming Up Next Week: With eyes on the latest trends in retail, heavyweight NRF 2020 Vision gets underway 11 January and runs through Tuesday in New York. Considered by many the world’s largest retail expo, the “big show” also incorporates keynotes and breakout sessions from diverse consumer brands. FedScoop’s Data Cloud Summit (14 January; Washington, DC) offers decision-makers from the public-sector IT community guidance in data strategy, governance, and cloud adoption. At the World Web Forum, expect to hear radical, forward-looking ideas from pioneering entrepreneurs and other thought leaders. The forum is held 16-17 January in Zurich and operates under a core set of articulated values that include cooperation and transparency. Lastly, the Digital Life Design (DLD) Conference Munich runs 18-20 January in Munich, immediately and intentionally preceding the WEF in Davos to offer its invite-only audience a roadmap for navigating our world in the digital era.
