TNW Stage at IFA: Last year, in addition to producing its own signature events, The Next Web partnered with media, entertainment and technology show IBC to produce #TNWTalks at IBC. This year, they are partnering with a different European conference behemoth: IFA. Though it is known as the world’s largest consumer electronics and home appliances trade show, IFA conference programming covers so much more. TNW will craft the programme for the IFA Next stage, highlighting “the most exciting founders, investors, and corporate innovation labs.” IFA returns to Berlin from 1 – 5 September.
New Code Conference Hosts: This is not new news but if you are not a Speaker Strategies Client (yet) you may have missed it. A few weeks ago, Vox Media announced new hosts for Code Conference after Kara Swisher’s departure. They wanted to take their time to ensure that they had the right fit. In 2023 Code Conference will be hosted by The Verge Editor-In-Chief Nilay Patel, Platformer founder Casey Newton and CNBC senior media and tech reporter Julia Boorstin, Vox Media. The 2023 Code Conference will run from 26 – 27 September at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel.
Speaking Opportunity: According to GreenBiz, climate change has been front and center for today’s business world, but an equally existential crisis is confronting the global economy: the accelerating loss of biodiversity and ecosystems. To address this, GreenBiz Bloom will be held 24-25 October in San Jose under the theme “Where Biodiversity Meets the Bottom Line.” Speaker submissions for Bloom – which will be accepted until 23 June – should focus on one of five themes: Nature-positive strategy; The bottom line; Engaging the ecosystem; The policy landscape; and Emerging tools & technologies. Since GreenBiz is committed to a representative agenda, be sure to include the perspective of a BIPOC speaker in every session with three or more people and gender diversity in every session with two or more people.
Lunchtime Learning: Hosted by Scale AI, TransformX brings together a community of leaders, visionaries, practitioners, and researchers across industries as they explore the shift from research to reality within AI and Machine Learning. Last year’s event offered three days of in-person and virtual keynote presentations, fireside chats and panel discussions. Since AI is such a hot topic, we thought our readers would be interested in sessions such as Applying AI to Redefine Every Industry, Why the US must win the Global AI race; and Transforming Drug Discovery Using Machine Learning.
