This “first-of-its-kind AI Mini-Summit” will capitalize on the AI chatter but be focused on having “T-shirts, not suits” in the room. Speaking Opportunity: Spring CUE 2024, held at the Palm Springs Convention Center from 21- 23 March 2024, is dedicated to celebrating teachers who have given so much through what has been the most challenging time of our careers. They have just opened their call for speakers with a 2 October 2023 deadline. As you develop your proposal, the conference asks that “you consider how your session will support an equitable, student-centered learning environment that promotes expression and contribution from marginalized voices. And, they ask that you consider how you will support your fellow educators in a synchronous way, sharing your ideas both in-person and virtually.” In order to guide potential speakers through the process, the conference also offers very thorough CFP guidelines.
Lunchtime Learning: The Aspen Security Forum (ASF) is “a nonpartisan public venue for domestic and global leaders to discuss the key national security and foreign policy issues of the day.” The 14th annual Aspen edition (they also host one in Washington D.C.) just wrapped last month. While the event only invites a curated group of leaders and a “carefully selected cohort of journalists and media outlets,” they do offer recordings of their sessions. Hear a fireside chat between General James H. Dickinson Commander, U.S. Space Command and David Ignatius of the Washington Post; Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Representative of the United States to the United Nations in conversation with Andrea Mitchell, Chief Washington Correspondent and Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, NBC News; and robust panels on topics such as Cross-Sector Collaboration to Combat Financial Crime and, of course, The Promise and Peril of Artificial Intelligence.
