HumanX: From the people who originally brought us HLTH, Shoptalk, and Money 2020, comes the inaugural HumanX, a new venture-backed AI conference scheduled for 10-13 March at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas. In its first year, HumanX expects to draw around 3,500 delegates who are company executives, innovators, and policymakers spanning finance, cybersecurity, government, entertainment, and healthcare. The brainchild of co-founders Stefan Weitz and Jonathan Weiner, HumanX promises issue-driven programming, experiential learning, and a festival of ideas that includes immersive art installations and live innovation demonstrations. Weitz, who will serve as CEO, had this to say: “Our focus is to clear and forge that path, making AI accessible, understandable, and most importantly, practical for every organization.” In addition to the conference, HumanX will launch a nonprofit entity in the fall advocate for responsible AI regulation and policies and ensure that corporate and governmental organizations have a voice in shaping the future of AI governance.
Emtech in Brazil: For the first time in 2024, MIT Technology Review will bring its EmTech brand of conferences to Brazil. Emtech Energy Brazil will take place in Rio de Janeiro on 17 Jun 2024 and aims to “illuminate pathways towards a more sustainable future.” Speakers from the region will discuss sustainable technology practices, technology-driven business model innovation, climate adaptation, spatial computing, and AI. The Emtech team also shared that they will likely host a new event in Guatemala this year as well.
Submission Opportunity: With plans to “illuminate truth, community, and the path forward,” Out & Equal Workplace Summit is planning its 2024 program, set for 7-10 October in Orlando. Sessions that address compelling work in LGBTQ+ workplace belonging, policy, and advocacy will be accepted until 24 May. With an acceptance rate of less than twenty percent, Out & Equal strongly recommends each organization limit total submissions to three. Hot topics this year could cover advocacy, intersectionality, mental health/well-being, and have a global or regional focus – especially Latin America, APAC, EMEA, and the southern U.S. states. All proposals must also include an additional resource to support post-summit learning, such as a video, worksheet, checklist, or downloadable presentation deck.
Lunchtime Learning: In celebration of Women’s History Month, the US Chamber of Commerce brought together leaders from across various industries to discuss “solutions powered by the business community and its partners that touch the lives of women and children across the world, from humanitarian assistance and access to health services to workplace wellness programs and the development of future leaders.” The resulting conference, the 14th Annual International Women’s Day Forum, took place on 28 February in Washington DC. Watch the event replay to hear from speakers from Southwest Airlines, Synchrony, Chobani, Abbott, ExxonMobil and the American Chemistry Council address topics such as The Future of Women and Children in Ukraine; Advancing Health and Wellness; Investing in Future Women Leaders; and Creating Workplace Cultures that Empower Women.
