Web Summit Collides in Vancouver: Until now, Web Summit’s sister event in North America has been known as Collision, the last edition of which just wrapped yesterday in Toronto. Next year, the event will move to Canada’s Pacific coast as the rebranded Web Summit Vancouver, slated for 27-30 May 2025. The announcement aligns with a recent social media post by Web Summit’s leadership explaining the move toward more intimate and community-focused programming.
Being Upfront with LA: On 28 – 29 October in Las Angeles, Forbes in partnership with Walmart Creator will host a new event – Forbes Creator Upfronts. The event idea was inspired by advertising’s “upfronts”, and will bring together creators and brand marketers who are “revolutionizing fashion, beauty and lifestyle for two days of learning, creating and connecting.” The summit will be by-invitation-only and open to Creators, Marketers and Agencies. Submission Opportunity: The BlackHat Europe (9 – 12 December 2024; London) has opened its call for Briefings with a deadline of 5 August. Black Hat is a leading Information Security conference. While the EU event is smaller than the US gathering, it is still an important place for security professionals to learn the very latest in information security risks and research. Briefings sessions are typically 40 mins long and and will take place on 11 – 12 December. Before you submit a speaker proposal, be sure to read their guidelines and review the 2024 tracks.
