Cloud Security Meets AI in Seattle: The mission of SECtember, the Cloud Security Alliance/CSA’s annual flagship event, is to change the way the cloud and cybersecurity industry meets. This year, the CSA will host a streamlined version of their conference to focus on the transformative power of generative AI and the intersection with cloud security. Dubbed SECtember.ai, the event will be held from 10 – 12 in Bellevue, WA and sessions will include keynotes, panels and workshops across three tracks: AI Security Fundamentals; AI Security Governance and Controls; and AI Security Operations and Emerging Trends.
BizCliks into the Midwest: BizClik a digital media company operating across multiple vertical and horizontal B2B global markets hosts a number of virtual conferences throughout the year. They also have hosted a handful of live conferences as well, but primarily in Europe. The team just announced that they would be expanding its in-person events to the US with Sustainability LIVE Chicago in 2025, co-located with Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE and Manufacturing LIVE. The “mega-co-located” events will take place from 4 – 5 June at Convene in the Fulton Market District.
Submission Opportunity: SXSW 2025, scheduled to return to Austin 7-15 March, is accepting speaker proposals via its trademarked Panel Picker process until Sunday 21 July. Since fewer than 15% of proposals are accepted into the conference and festivals, SXSW advises sticking to a few simple tenets: 1) The more specific a proposal, the better; 2) Direct and explanatory titles work best; 3) Good supporting material helps distinguish from the competition. Community voting runs from 6-18 August, allowing the public to view all of the submitted proposals and vote for the ones they want to see on the agenda. Public voting accounts for 30% of selection weight, while the SXSW Advisory board and staff account for the rest. Covering what’s ahead in education, SXSWedu (3-6 March 2025) employs the same Panel Picker process and timing. Each submitter account can propose one SXSW and one SXSWedu session idea.
Lunchtime Learning: The goal of VivaTech, which just wrapped its 2024 event in Paris in May, is to accelerate innovation by connecting startups, tech leaders, major corporations, and investors. This year, VivaTech had more than 165,000 visitors from 120 countries and included 400 speakers! Sessions explored how technology is impacting content creation, finance and retail and considered the effect AI would have on various industries. Didn’t make it to Paris last month? That is fine! You can watch all of the sessions here including Preparing your Company for the AI Revolution, The New Paradigm of Creativity and Digital Experiences, and Europe’s Next Unicorns: Unveiling Entrepreneurial Lessons for Success.
Coming Up Next Week: Technology conferences this time of year feel a bit like going away to a geeky summer camp, and this week’s lineup is no exception. Want to explore the “transformative journeys of C-suite visionaries” from leading Fortune 500 companies as they divulge secrets for AI-driven business success? Reuters Momentum AI has you covered from 16-17 July in San Jose. Or maybe you’re a business leader who wants to learn where futurists have placed their bets? Then head to mountains of Park City, UT for Fortune Brainstorm Tech from 15-17 July. Perhaps a European adventure is more up your alley. If so, WeAreDevelopers World Congress kicks off 17 July in Berlin, designed for a range of developers, technologist, and leaders involved in the software and product business. And if you just can’t leave NYC, SummerCon is one of the oldest hackercons and is held right in Brooklyn.
